Recent Alder Videos

Alder is now just learning to walk but continues to crawl about 80% of the time. He loves water and especially the hose. This Elmo sprinkler he was not so sure about. Alder is also trying to talk. He just babbles away (you can hear it in the second video) and bless his heart you can see his frustration with not being able to tell us exactly what he is thinking. I am just enjoying this time though when those sweet little sounds come out and he is looking right at you as he "talks" (thinking that I understand) because once he starts talking all that babbling will be gone forever. The crawling I am tired of though! I am ready for this boy to walk. I am so pregnant now that its so hard to carry him all the time.

Yesterday Alder got to try out his new wellies for the first time. He had a ball. Alder just loved the dirty dirty water in all the ditches.

Family Faces

This picture may not mean much to most of you, but this captures Alder looking just like his Dada and his Uncle Jackson-I think. Jared and I looked at this picture and thought that the similarities were uncanny. I swear I have seen pictures of Jared and Jackson when they were this young that look just like the one above. Its so funny. Alder was sitting on this milking stool and eating "cookies" when we captured these shots. He was also signing "please," "more," and "thank you" all at the same time b/c I guess the cookies were soooo good all the while trying to balance himself on the stool. I thought it would be fun for all the Wingfield's to see. Happy Friday!

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend this past weekend celebrating Easter here with my family. They all arrived on Thursday afternoon and did not leave until Sunday. It was a glorious time to hang out and catch up especially with both of my brothers who we had not seen since Christmas. We enjoyed great fellowship gathered around fantastic meals and lots of down time. My Mom and I were able to get a lot accomplished in getting ready for baby number 2 who arrives in just 6-7 weeks. Alder received many goodies from the Easter Bunny (my parents) the whole weekend with the biggest being a Little Tikes climber. Its huge with two slides and little crawl spaces. He loves it. The play set will certainly help us this summer as I sit on the porch and nurse new baby and Alder can just play play play. Thank you again JoeJoe and KeeKee! Alder also received a tunnel which just makes him laugh so hard as he crawls through it and he fell in love with picking up eggs and putting them in his basket. He and KeeKee decorated the Easter tree together and Alder totally got the concept. It still sits on our dining room table and he points at it and smiles all throughout the day. Several times throughout the weekend we had wonderful devotionals at the table which really prepared our hearts for Sunday and the rejoicing over the Resurrection. We hope everyone had a joyous Easter and great time with family and friends.

He is Risen!

The Pilgrimage

During the weekend of March 14th and 15th, our house was on the tour of homes for the Marengo Historical Society. The tour of homes occurs every two years and because we bought one of the oldest homes in Demopolis we were asked back in the summer if we would consider being on it. We naively said yes, thinking that all of our house remodel would be completed months before March and really, how big of a deal could it be??? Oh, were we wrong. Two days before the pilgrimage we had one cast iron tub in our guestroom and the other one upside down in our hallway. Needless to say the house all came together at the last minute. Over the weekend we had about 100 people come and tour the home. Most were from around here and others came from as far away as Michigan. Some people toured the home that had friends or family that had lived here so we got to hear stories of the house from long ago. It was a interesting experience. Now that the house is complete, I need to post before and after pictures. It is amazing the transformation.

The books come to life....

We took Alder out to the Hall's house a few weeks ago to show Alder all of their animals. They have turkeys, chickens, baby chicks, horses, a donkey, cows, dogs, cats, and on and on. Alder looked with amazement as he watched all of these animals and wanted to touch them. You could tell his brain was just firing off the connection between all the stories we read with these animals in them and seeing them for the first time in real life. He was fearless in "walking" (he is not walking yet by himself, he just likes to hold your finger and walk....ugghhh! I cannot believe I am almost 8 months pregnant and I am still carrying Alder) up to all the animals and wanted to feed them whatever he could find off the ground. The donkey was especially fun as he was so sweet and curious. It was a fun Saturday afternoon outing.
